Guests may need to be rescued from the high ropes course in a variety of situations. These include overexertion brought on by overestimation, cardiovascular issues, or anaphylactic shock brought on by an insect bite. For instance, a sudden storm-related evacuation may also call for quick rescue. In each of these scenarios, using a rescue and abseiling apparatus with a lifting function is advised. With the use of this tool, victims of accidents can be raised and carefully brought to the ground, where other rescuers can take them in.

Both passive and active rescue methods are possible. We call this a passive rescue when the rescuer lowers the injured individual while staying on top. A rescuer descends with the injured individual during an active rescue. These tools can also be used to evacuate a group of people, like from a platform using a pendulum rescue.
